For secondary school students only!
In the spring of 2013, the OPERA launched its grand secondary school program by launching a chest full of the props of a Hunyadi László performance on a tour of schools. In the course of seven seasons, close to 300,000 students came to Erkel Theatre and viewed 15 different operas and ballets. With the establishment of the Ervin Lázár Programme, the OPERA renewed its own OperAdventure in 2022. We await students, naturally accompanied by committed teachers and enterprising parents, to the public dress rehearsals held at the Opera House, in the best seats no less and at exceptionally favourable rates. And since the performances take place in the evenings, the OPERA will provide free access to the recordings of the given production on its own online channel for schools and classes applying for the program but unable to provide transportation.
MVM has always considered it important to nurture arts and support talents. Thus, to mark the reopening of the Ybl Palace in March 2022, the long-established company committed itself to being the OPERA’s strategic partner for the next two years. The cooperation focuses on helping the institution with popular programmes for young people, such as the OperAdventure series, which was launched almost a decade ago and which gives many young people access to cultural events who would not have the opportunity to do so because of their family situation or physical distance.
Planned OperAdventure performances in 2024:
Seregi / Goldmark / Hidas: The Taming of the Shrew (ballet)
Harangozó / Delibes: Coppelia (ballet)
Verdi: Falstaff (opera)
Puccini: La bohème (opera)
