Shiori Kase was born in Tokyo, Japan. Started dancing at the age of three, she is a graduate from the Hirose Kato Ballet School and Royal Ballet School. She joined the English National Ballet in 2009 and became soloist in 2013. In 2014 she became First Soloist; in 2014 she was promoted to Principal and in 2022 she became Lead Principal.
She has danced lead roles in multiple productions such as Odette/Odile in Swan Lake (Deane); Clara/Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker (Eagling); Aurora and Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty (MacMillan); Medora and Gulnare in Le Corsaire (Holmes); Ballerina in Etudes (Lander); Polyhymnia in Apollo (Balanchine); Cinderella and Sister Clementine in Cinderella (Wheeldon); The Sylph in La Sylphide (Bournonville/Andersen); Flute and Pas de Trois in Suite en blanc (Lifar); Lead Couple in No Man's Land (Scarlett); Swanilda in Coppélia (Hynd), and the title role of Raymonda (Rojo).
She has made guest appearances on the stages of K-Ballet Company and Macedonian National Ballet. She won the Emerging Dancer Award in 2011 and the Gold Medal at the 2014 USA International Ballet Competition.
