Sándor Dobos pursued his musical education privately. Between 1997 and 1999 he was a member of the National Theatre of Pécs. In 1998, he sang the roles of Mihály Szilágyi in Ferenc Erkel's opera Hunyadi László and of Charles V in Verdi's Don Carlos. In 2011, he appeared as Nilakantha in Delibes's opera Lakmé at the FUGA Budapest Centre of Architecture. He has been a member of the Hungarian State Opera since 1999, and has the status of a titular soloist within the chorus. He has also performed in concerts since 2002, having sung in such venues as the Bertalan Székely Hall in the Opera House, the Fészek Artists' Club and the Eötvös Loránd University Ballroom. At the Opera House, he has sung the roles of the first apparition (Macbeth), the second soldier (Salome), Monterone (Rigoletto), the Mandarin (Turandot), the King's herald (Lohengrin), Donner (Das Rheingold), the Captain (King Pomade's New Clothes) and Ourrias (in Gounod's Mireille).
