Pálma Hidegkuti was born in Szerencs, Hungary in 1961. She began her musical studies in early childhood, and her path led straight to the Academy of Music. In 1985, she also won a one-year scholarship from the Dresden Conservatory (Hochschule für Musik), where she studied under Prof. Amadeus Webersinke. She graduated from the Academy of Music in 1986 as a pianist.
She joined the Hungarian State Opera in 1987, where she initially worked as a répétiteur for the ballet, and a year later she continued her work with singers and has been working in this field ever since. Recently, the artist received the jubilee gold ring in recognition of her twenty-five-career at the OPERA.
For 15 years, she was also a permanent guest artist and keyboard assistant for the National Philharmonic led by Zoltán Kocsis. Her international collaborations include the coaching of Béla Bartók's opera Bluebeard’s Castle: at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona in 2007, and at the Saito Kinen Festival i. m. Seigi Ozawa in Matsumoto, in 2013.
