A member of the Hungarian State Opera Chorus since 2013, Szabina Kristóf has already taken the stage of the Opera House to play minor operatic roles (in Der Rosenkavalier and Don Pasquale) as well as to perform Brahms lieder as part of a chamber concert with the Budapest Philharmonic, under the baton of Máté Szabó Sipos. Two years after starting her classical music studies at the Pikéthy Tibor Conservatory in Vác at the age of 19, Kristóf was admitted to the undergraduate classical voice course at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music. For the first three years, she studied with Katalin Halmai. She then graduated with a degree in song and oratorio voice in 2015, as a student of Ingrid Kertesi's. During her student years, she regularly further developed her skills at master classes and private lessons held by renowned artists such as Éva Marton, Andrea Meláth, Nicholas Clapton, Nancy Argenta, Ilona Tokody, György Vashegyi and Barnabás Kelemen. She regular appears together with the Kelemen Quartet, having appeared together with the string players at the Budapest Gold Museum, the Őrség Days of Flowering festival and in the Sala Radetzky of Milan's Palazzo Cusani as part of the city's Expo 2015. Her achievements during the 2014/15 season earned her the Hungarian State Opera's Juventus Award, presented to the most promising young singer of the year.
