Mzia Bakhtouridze graduated in piano at the Moscow Conservatory and immediately began an intense concert career in the most prestigious concert halls of the Soviet Union. She also collaborated with the Bolshoi Theatre with conductor Yuri Temirkanov and opera singer Elena Obraztsova.
In 1990, Mzia Bakhtouridze moved to Italy to further hone her craft at the Teatro alla Scala. Later she became a musical coach at La Scala collaborating with numerous conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Seiji Ozawa, Myung-Whun Chung, Georges Prêtre, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Valery Gergiev, Mstislay Rostropovic, Daniel Harding, Gustavo Dudamel, Daniel Barenboim, Nicola Luisotti, Fabio Luisi, and Gianandrea Noseda. During her teaching Mzia also specialized in lieder repertoire with Helmut Deutsch.
Besides her activity at the Teatro alla Scala, Mzia Bakhtouridze constantly works as a concert accompanist, which has brought her to perform at the most prestigious international music halls both in Europe and in America alongside singers such as Ramón Vargas, Roberto Scandiuzzi, Roberto Frontali Renato Bruson, Ildar Abdrazakov, Olga Borodina, Barbara Frittoli, Fabio Sartori, Elina Garanca and Piotr Beczala.
Together with Ildar Abdrazakov she had recitals at Teatro alla Scala, Carnegie Hall, Palm Beach Opera, Mexico Guanajuato, St Petersburg Philharmonic.
