Bálint Szabó completed his studies, among others, at the Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca. He was a soloist at the Hungarian State Opera and the Romanian State Opera. He was then a member of the ensemble at the Hamburg State Opera and the Frankfurt Opera. He performed as guest artist in Düsseldorf, Geneva, Budapest, Paris, Toulouse, Monte-Carlo, Antwerp, London, Milan, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Madrid, Tel Aviv and Athens. His repertoire includes roles such as Publio (La clemenza di Tito), Sparafucile (Rigoletto), Fiesco (Simon Boccanegra) and Philip II (Don Carlo), Selim (Il Turco in Italia), Mephisto (Faust), Don Giovanni, Ramfis (Aida) etc... as well as the title role in Duke Bluebeard's Castle. Since the 2018/19 season he has been a member of the ensemble of the Bavarian State Opera, where he sang Baron Douphol (La traviata), Cesare Angelotti (Tosca), Colline (La Bohéme), Ferrando (Il Trovatore), various roles in Die Nase, Sam (Un ballo in maschera), Titurel (Parsifal), Lodovico (Otello) and Narbal (Les Troyens).
