Born in Miskolc, Hungary, pianist Gergő Zoltán Varga graduated the Béla Bartók Conservatory in his hometown before being admitted to the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest. He obtained his master’s degree in 2014, followed by Pedagogical and psychological studies, and later he was enrolled as a doctoral student. Beside the concert halls of Hungary, he appeared at the Estonian National Opera in Tallinn, Paris, at the Cairo Opera House, Vienna, and Japan. He received a number of scholarships including the Annie Fischer Scholarship for performance artists, and he won several competitions, most notably the first prize of the György Cziffra Piano Competition in 2016 and the first prize in concerto category of the Los Angeles Liszt Competition in 2022.
