Born in Miskolc in 1973, Péter Vida was still a high school student when he first took the stage as a member of the National Theatre of Miskolc Studio. In 1996, he graduated from the Academy of Theatre and Film Arts after completing a course headed by Imre Kerényi. He first worked at the National Theatre of Miskolc (1996-1998) and Szolnok's Szigligeti Theatre (1998-2002) before moving on to the National Theatre until 2008. Between 2008 and 2012 he was back at the National Theatre of Miskolc, and since 2012 he has been a member of the Thália Theatre. The noted humorist made his Opera House debut in the role of Frosch in Die Fledermaus in 2006.
